RIYADH — Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority, has revealed that the number of visitors to various events and activities of the Riyadh Season 2021 reached nearly 1 million. "The events have fetched about SR550 million in direct income so far," he said in a statement on his Twitter account. Al-Sheikh said that these remarkable achievements were made because of the support, guidance and planning by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, as well as the coordination of various agencies. "And this (achievement) is during the days before the opening of the Boulevard, which is the largest zone in the Riyadh Season, praise be to God. In less than 10 days, we approached the mark of one million visitors and SR550 million in direct income from the Season so far... and what coming is even better," he said. In an earlier tweet, Al-Sheikh said tickets for the first days of the activities of the Season were sold out. "All the tickets for the events that were held during the past days — starting from the opening parade of the Riyadh Season, to the WWE Crown Jewel and the Festival RUSH on the first and second days — were sold out. Fantastic Season Fixture; record numbers," he said. Al-Sheikh opened Riyadh Season 2, the Middle East's largest ever entertainment event, on Oct. 20. The opening ceremony featured in impressive parade, dazzling shows of drones and spectacular fireworks that lit up the skies of the capital city. The Riyadh Season is witnessing 7,500 astounding events and fun-filled activities across 14 entertainment zones spreading over a total area of 5.4 million square meters. The festival will run until March 2022.
