Future Investment Initiative Institute (FII) Wednesday granted the first edition of FII Award for Humanity to international advocate for women's and children's rights Dame Graça Machel and to human activist Gloria Gaynor. For her part, Machel delivered an inaugural speech and held a live open meeting with Princess Rima Bint Bandar Bin Sultan, Saudi Ambassador to the US, on the importance of investment in humanity. Machel is the former first lady of Mozambique and South Africa and the head of Graça Machel Trust (GMT). On the other hand, Gaynor works for several charity associations and specifically focuses on helping individuals to overcome illness and grief, and people who survived national tragedies that storm their countries and try to resume their lives after such crises. Richard Attias, CEO of the FII Institute, said that the award is a kind of appreciation in recognition of prominent figures' positive impact on humanity. FII Institute for Humanity Award reflects the institute's agenda that seeks to leave a positive impact on humanity and on how to reach a brighter and more sustainable future for humanity. — SPA
