Aluminum Corp of China gained 2.41 billion yuan in the first half of 2008, down 66.4 percent year on year, according to Chalco's mid-term report released in Shanghai Monday. The report attributed the earning decline to the lower sales revenue and rising production cost. The aluminum smelter raked 39.607 billion yuan of revenue in the first six months, down 7.14 percent year on year. The earnings per share was 0.178 yuan. Besides, Chalco plans to pay cash dividend of 0.052 yuan per share, which will be discussed on the temporary shareholders' meeting.
