Saudi Arabia will host the World Club Handball Championship "Super Globe 2021" for the second time in a row in Jeddah from October 5 to 9, the Ministry of Sports announced on Friday. The championship will be held in coordination with the Saudi Handball Federation as the tournament is part of the "Quality of Life" Program. Ten clubs representing seven continents will participate in the tournament, which will be hosted at King Abdullah Sports City. The Kingdom, as the host country, will be represented by Al Noor and Al Wahda clubs. Al Duhail of Qatar (Asia), Aalborg of Denmark (Europe), and the University of Sydney (Oceania), CalHeat San Francisco (North America and the Caribbean), and Brazilian Pineros (South and Central America), Zamalek of Egypt (Africa) are among the other participating clubs, in addition to former champions Barcelona of Spain. The German team Magdeburg will participate on the invitation of the International Handball Federation. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, said in a press statement: "We are once again happy to host the biggest handball club championship with the participation of the continental champions for the second time in a row. It is an extension of the championships and events hosted by our country with the direct support of our wise leadership, and the keenness and follow-up of His Royal Highnes, the Crown Prince towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030." He added: "We wish all success to our representatives, Al-Nour and Al-Wahda teams, in this tournament, and welcome all the participating teams in their second country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This version of the championship will be represented at a distinguished technical level that will be admired by fans of this fun game." The eastern city of Dammam hosted the 2019 edition of the tournament, after the Kingdom won the hosting rights for four consecutive editions since 2019. -- SPA
