RIYADH — This year's summer season would end meteorologically in the coming two weeks, with the starting of gradual decrease in temperatures especially during the night hours, according to a meteorology expert. Adel Qazanli, weather specialist at the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), stressed that the autumn season will enter soon, and it will combine some of the climatic features of the summer and winter seasons. He revealed the meteorological date for the end of the annual summer season while attending "An-Nahar" program on Al-Ekhbariya channel on Monday. Qazanli expected the presence of clouds over most of the Kingdom's atmosphere and a noticeable decrease in temperatures during the coming period. Earlier in July, Hussain Al-Qahtani, spokesman of NCM, expected that August would be the hottest month of 2021 with a simmering sun in most regions of the Kingdom. He noted that there would be a major concentration of humidity on the Kingdom's eastern coasts as well as in Makkah region while the humidity will be less on the highlands and inland regions such as Najran and Riyadh. It is noteworthy that the Climate Services Department at NCM had revealed that the average temperatures for the month of May this year were the highest for the same month over three decades since 1991.
