RIYADH — The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in cooperation with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), is making final preparations to launch a number of regional technological initiatives in a grand ceremony here on Wednesday evening. The launching ceremony is tipped to be the largest of its kind in the region. The initiatives and programs will be carried out in partnership with several local bodies representing government and private sectors as well as international companies. These are aimed at taking optimal advantage of the vast opportunities in the digital economy, apart from serving the technological communities in the Kingdom and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The event is expected to witness announcement of many giant partnerships among global pioneering entities in the technology industry, and training and development institutions in various technological sectors around the world as part of efforts to tapping human energies, supporting the digital business system, and empower a technology-based community. These initiatives would contribute to strengthening the Kingdom's role as a regional technology hub, hosting innovators, programmers and entrepreneurs from diverse technological sectors. The objectives of these initiatives range from inspiring youth energies and building national capacities to reach the sustainability of technological societies that lead to innovation, and accelerate the digital transformation that the Kingdom is experiencing in its path towards achieving the ambitious goals of its Vision 2030.
