RIYADH – A specialist in the furniture industry estimated an increase in the size of the Saudi market to SR9 billion ($2.4 billion) by 2015 in light of the record rise in the volume of expenditures on residential projects, which is estimated at SR300 billion ($80 billion). Also, the volume of the Saudi furniture market is currently more than SR5.5 billion ($1.4 billion), reflecting the importance of the furniture market in Saudi Arabia. A study conducted in 2012 by the magazine of Riyadh's Chamber of Commerce cited reports issued by the World Bank stating that the potential financial savings of Saudi women in banks is estimated at SR45 billion, and real estate investments by females in the Kingdom are approximately SR120 billion, they possess third brokerage accounts, 20 percent of the capital of mutual funds, 40 percent of family businesses. And one of the key industries in the Kingdom that women contribute to the prosperity of it as a consumer: is the furniture industry. In this regard, Almutlaq Holding Company launched its new brand “Roomz” to provide the market with furniture at affordable prices while maintaining their well-know high quality, and that was done by utilizing their experience in the sales of furniture, which exceeded 50 years in Saudi Arabia. Roomz concept is based on the principle of drawing a smile on the face of visitors from the moment they enter until they exit through three distinctive styles of furniture covering classic furniture, modern, and transitional. The showroom as a whole was designed to simulate corners of a house, making it possible to imagine any item at home before buying, which makes the whole shopping experience enjoyable. Abdullah Almutlaq, CEO of the Almutlaq Holding, said: “Eighty five percent of Roomz visitors are women, which has been our main focus in building the new brand starting from the strategic studies ending up by the design of the showroom itself, where the woman was the center of all our policies as we believe she is the cornerstone and the most influential in the sales of furniture in Saudi Arabia.” — SGt
