Space Commission invites applications for scholarship program
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 26 - 07 - 2021

RIYADH — The Saudi Space Commission is inviting applications for the first Saudi Foreign Scholarship Program, ending with employment in the field of space sciences. The program provides qualitative educational opportunities to Saudi male and female students in space science disciplines in 30 most prestigious universities around the world.
The initiative comes within the framework of the comprehensive development witnessed by the Kingdom's space sector.
The program offers two tracks for students. This is either for those who have obtained unconditional acceptance for scholarship program or those who pursue studies at their own personal expense in disciplines related to space sciences in the world standard universities.
The commission said that those who wish to apply for the program need to fill up the application form with the relevant data along with attachment of the required documents on the Space Scholarship Program platform.
The commission will scrutinize the documents and applications and then fix the time for the personal interview, which will be followed by the acceptance phase. The program management then will inform the status of the applicant's request via the e-mail registered on the electronic registration platform facilitating the enrolment of those who have qualified for the scholarship program.
The first phase of the scholarship program would include bachelor and master degrees in the field of space in several disciplines including aerospace engineering, space sciences and space policies.
According to the terms and conditions for the submission of application, which opened on Sunday, the applicant must be a Saudi national with good conduct, and has a direct, unconditional acceptance in the field of space specializations or is pursuing self-study in the designated universities in the specific specializations, in addition to adhering to the terms and condition of the foreign scholarship rules that are prevalent in the Ministry of Education.
It is noteworthy that the program includes many advantages offered to male and female students by joining the scholarship program that ends with employment in the space sector, including study costs and financial guarantee, in addition to health insurance and travel tickets from the Kingdom to the headquarters of the scholarship study, and providing guidance programs by following up on the scholarship student and evaluating his academic development.
The commission invited all those who wish to obtain more information to have it through entering the link: https://saudispace.gov.sa/projects-ar/scholarship.
The scholarship program comes within the Commission's plans to achieve global leadership in space sciences, and realize the Kingdom's aspirations and leadership in this sector, while working through many paths to achieve global leadership in space sciences, including human capital development, qualification of competencies, and ensuring the availability of qualified national cadets who are compatible with the needs in the space sector in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
