RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman sent a cable of congratulation to President of the Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on the eve of the anniversary of his country's Independence Day. In his cable, the Custodian of the Two Holy wished President Solih good health and happiness and the steady progress and prosperity for the government and people of the Maldives, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday. According to the SPA, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman sent a similar cable to the Maldivian president. Independence Day in the Maldives is a public holiday and it is celebrated on July 26 every year. This holiday celebrates the day in 1965 when the Maldives gained independence from Britain.
