WASHINGTON — Saudi Arabia's Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman has met with US National Security Council's coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk and US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking. Saudi Ambassador to the United States Princess Reema Bint Bandar Bin Sultan was also present in the meetings. In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Prince Khalid said that in his meeting with Lenderking he affirmed the Kingdom's continued support for the Yemeni people and their legitimate government. He also discussed with the US envoy the latest efforts to reach a political resolution to the conflict that will achieve stability and security in Yemen. In his meeting with McGurk, Prince Khalid discussed the latest developments in the Horn of Africa. They reviewed the Kingdom's efforts to support the security and stability of the African continent, and its efforts to aid its progress and development. On Tuesday, the Saudi deputy defense minister, who is currently visiting the United States, held extensive talks with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl. During the talks, they reviewed Saudi-US partnership and aspects of strategic cooperation in military and defense fields between the two countries.
