NEOM — The Council of Ministers reviewed the efforts made by state agencies to enhance development gains and achieve more progress through the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The vision's programs are based on increasing and sustaining economic growth in all fields and developing new sectors based on the distinguished location and leading position of the Kingdom. During a virtual session chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the Cabinet considered the launch of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, as the beginning of a new phase in this vital sector to improve its services, integrate its system. The strategy will consolidate the Kingdom's position as a global logistics center linking the three continents through a package of qualitative initiatives and projects that will contribute to achieving economic and social goals and enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness regionally and globally. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the meeting, Acting Minister of Media Majid Al-Qasabi pointed out that the Cabinet highlighted a number of issues, events, and its developments. Al-Qasabi reiterated the Kingdom's continued support to Yemen and its legitimate government, and to push all parties to accept political solutions to unite ranks among all components of the Yemeni spectrum so that Yemen complete its march in restoring the state, its security and stability, and support efforts to reach a comprehensive political solution to end the crisis, in accordance with the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the comprehensive Yemeni National Dialogue, and Security Council resolution. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's condemnation of the continued attempts by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects and to continue violating the Stockholm Agreement by launching hostile attacks from the Hodeidah Governorate. The Cabinet touched on what the Kingdom's expressed on the two special sessions on Africa, multilateralism, and international governance to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic, which was held on the sidelines of the meeting of the Foreign and Development Ministers of G20 under the Italian Presidency in Matera City. The Kingdom expressed its support for international and regional efforts, to lay the foundations for stability, security and conflict resolution in Africa, and it looks forward to global solidarity, promote investment in various fields and enclose partnership and effective cooperation to face the challenges that threaten the world and humanity. Dr. Al-Qasabi stated that the Cabinet stressed the Kingdom's firm stance about making the region free of weapons of mass destruction, support for the cooperation to ban it and condemn their use. During the 97th session of the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the Kingdom showed great interest in the convention banning the use of weapons of mass destruction, which affirms its role in strengthening international peace and security.
