Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance. Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh and Egypt's Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa signed on Thursday the executive program for Islamic affairs cooperation between the two countries. The program entails information and expertise exchange between the two countries in the Awqaf field in addition to enhancing and institutionalizing cooperation between the Saudi General Authority for Awqaf (GAA) and the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf, according to a joint statement. The program also seeks to activate the memorandum of understanding the two sides have previously signed which included the holding of specialized workshops on moderation and counter extremism and sectarianism approaches. As per the program, the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Qur'an will be providing the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf with copies of the Holy Quran, translations and interpretation works and the two sides will be exchanging research papers and organizing scientific meetings and conferences. A committee has been also formed under the executive program to follow up on the implementation of the agreement's provisions. — SPA
