Ali Al-Hami Al-Sharq Finally I got my annual vacation of 30 days from my employer, which is a private establishment. As the vacation was short, I decided to limit my destinations. I love traveling abroad and I am also a great fan of domestic tourism. So I decided to spend part of my vacation in Dubai and the other part in the south of the Kingdom. I traveled to Dubai where I spent the most hilarious 10 days of my life. The 10 days passed very quickly like the blink of an eye. From there, I proceeded to the south of the Kingdom. Then an unexpected thing happened. My leave coincided with the school holidays. I was shocked by the high rise in the rent of furnished apartments, which had gone up by more than 300 percent. Nevertheless, I decided to take a room in a furnished apartment only to be met by one sentence from the receptionist: We do not out rent to single men. I decided never to give up or be defeated easily so I spent my first night in my car. I got up when the sun rays directly hit my face. I went to a famous tourist forest in the region to enjoy the kaleidoscopic green. When I arrived at the gate I was greeted by a large billboard saying: “Only families are allowed to enter”. I found myself being kicked out wherever I went. As I told you before, I am not a defeatist so I decided to go to a souvenir shop to buy some souvenirs as a token from the region. After the greeting, the salesman politely told me that the shop is only open to families. I was shivering with anger and disappointment. I went back to Dubai to enjoy the rest of my vacation, of which some days were spent on my futile attempts to enjoy domestic tourism.
