RIYADH — There have been no deaths reported among vaccinated individuals in Saudi Arabia, The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed on Sunday. This was stated by Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdulaaly, official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, while announcing that the second dose of anti-coronavirus vaccine is available now for people above 50 years old. He warned from rumors related to coronavirus vaccines, calling on everyone to be aware and refer to official sources. Dr. Al-Abdulaaly explained that the Kingdom is witnessing fluctuation in reporting cases with relative stability in most regions, as new cases ranged between 1,000 and 1,200 per day, due to the record demand for laboratory tests. He confirmed that there is no conflict between seasonal flu vaccinations and COVID-19 vaccine for those who wish to peform Hajj this year. The spokesman said that vaccines provide protection against COVID-19 and prevent virus-related deaths with a 100 percent success rate. He reiterated that coronavirus vaccines are safe, effective and necessary for protection. "The World Health Organization confirmed that the Kingdom is among the best health systems worldwide in facing the and Saudi Arabia among the advanced rankings globally in its measures to confront the pandemic," Dr. Al-Abdulaaly said. The Ministry said it has so far administered more than 17.2 million vaccine doses through 587 vaccination centers across the Kingdom, covering 70 percent of the total adult population in Saudi Arabia.
