Farabi Petrochemicals recently won the prestigious Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu Best Environmental Performance Award among Jubail Primary Industries; 1st Place in 2019 and 3rd place in 2020 during an Environment Day ceremony on 06 June 2021 organized by the Royal Commission in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Presented by Engr. Mustafa AlMahdi, CEO of the Royal Commission for Jubail, and received by Engr. Mohamed AlWadaey, CEO of Farabi Petrochemicals, the award recognizes Farabi's distinctive performance as the leading petrochemical company in the downstream hydrocarbon processing industries in Jubail. The award is presented on annual basis in an event that culminate the observance of World Environment Day which falls on every 05thof June. The Sunday event was a commemoration allocated to cover both 2019 and 2020 winners after the celebration in 2019 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards mark the 4th time Farabi Petrochemicals has won in the last 6 years. In 2015, Farabi won 2nd place and 1st place in 2016,respectively. Located in Jubail Industrial City, Farabi Petrochemicals operates 2 world scale Normal Paraffin (N-Paraffin) plants, and 3 world scale Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) plants, in addition to its specialty oilsand specialty chemicals plants in Yanbu Industrial City.
