RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Film Commission announced on Tuesday the launch of the second phase of the "Filmmakers" program in cooperation with the most important universities and international institutions. The program seeks to support and develop creative talents, enhance their passion and sharpen their skills in the field of filmmaking. Those who wish to join the program can register through the following link: https://engage.moc.gov.sa/film_talents, the commission said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. Commenting on the launch of the program, Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan tweeted on Tuesday, saying: "Our country is rich in talent the 'Filmmaker' program in its second stage will contribute to its discovery and development. Hurry up to register." The second phase of the program will see the establishment of a number of training courses, most notably, the introduction to documentary film, documentary film editing, filming without a camera, advanced use of the camera and scenery, working with actors, production design course, production of visual effects, basics of 3D animated movies, among many other courses. The courses will be provided by the authority in cooperation with a group of training bodies and international and local film institutes, like La Femis, London Film School, National Film & Television School (NFTS). The commission called on those interested in the film industry to make the most of the initiative and register in the program to obtain the highest levels of training and qualification imparted by experienced professionals and specialists in this field. The Film Commission launched the "Filmmakers" program within the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program "one of the programs to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030" and with the support of the Ministry of Culture. The program aims to discover and develop national talents by organizing intensive training programs and comprehensive workshops and to make the local film industry at par with international standards as well as to ignite the audience's passion for the film sector and encouraging them to take their first steps toward fulfilling it.
