The Arab Coalition Forces in the early hours of Sunday morning intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone fired by the Iranian-backed Al-Houthi militias towards Khamis Mushayt, the southern city of Saudi Arabia, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA). In a statement, coalition spokesman, Brig. Gen. Turki Al Maliki, said, "The coalition air defenses intercepted and destroyed a drone (booby-trapped) launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushayt." Later, on Sunday, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia's attempt to target civilians and civilian objects in Khamis Mushayt City with a bomb-laden UAV. The secretary general praised the high level of alert and capabilities of the Saudi air defense forces that intercepted and destroyed the Houthi UAV before reaching its target. Dr. Al-Othaimeen renewed OIC's support for all procedures taken by the coalition forces to deal with the practices of the Houthi militia, in a bid to protect civilians and civil objects, under the international humanitarian law and its norms, pointing out that the hostile escalation actions and blatant challenge from Houthis are considered war crimes. He also reiterated the organization's stance and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing these terrorist crimes perpetrated by the Houthi militia, supporting all procedures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect its security and stability and the safety of citizens and residents. — SPA
