England coach Fabio Capello named uncapped Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard in his 23-man squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Croatia on Sunday. With Steven Gerrard, Michael Carrick and Owen Hargreaves out injured, the tough-tackling, hard-running Bullard, who turns 30 in October, gets a surprise call. There was no place though for Michael Owen, who looked rusty in his first full appearance of the season on Saturday for Newcastle United, or fellow striker Peter Crouch. Emile Heskey continues his international Indian summer by retaining his place, with Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe and Theo Walcott offering attacking options. David Beckham is again included. Capello has indicated that he is willing to spring more shock. “No one is untouchable, not the captain, the vice captain - no one,” Capello said Sunday. “I know if we win you are the best and if you lose you are the stupid man. I know this is the situation and it is my job. If you can't take the pressure you can't be in this job. For me the pressure is normal and this is my job.” England plays Andorra in Barcelona next Saturday before taking on Croatia in Zagreb on Sept. 10. Squad: Keepers: David James, Rob Green, Paul Robinson; Defenders: Wayne Bridge, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, John Terry, Joleon Lescott, Matthew Upson; Midfielders: Gareth Barry, Jimmy Bullard, Jermaine Jenas, Joe Cole, David Bentley, Frank Lampard, Stewart Downing, David Beckham; Forwards: Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Theo Walcott, Emile Heskey.
