Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 05 - 2021

JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia's allies in the region as well Arab and Islamic organizations have strongly condemned the Iranian-backed Houthi militia's attempt to target the Abha International Airport with an explosive-laden drone that was intercepted by the Arab Coalition forces on Monday.
In a statement issued by the foreign ministry on Monday, the UAE said that the continued terrorist attacks reflect the Houthi militia's blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms.
The UAE's foreign ministry urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these recurrent acts of terror, which pose menacing threats to critical and civil facilities in the Kingdom, the world's energy supplies and the global economy.
"The recurring threat of these attacks over the recent period is a grave escalation that represents new evidence of these militias' attempts to undermine security and stability in the region," added the statement.
The UAE renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia over these subversive terrorist attacks and reiterated its stand against all threats to the Kingdom's security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.
The statement emphasized that the security of the UAE and Saudi Arabia are indivisible and that any threat facing the Kingdom is considered by the Emirates a threat to its security and stability.
Bahrain called the attack a cowardly terrorist act targeting safe civilians in violation of all international humanitarian laws and international norms.
The foreign ministry affirmed Bahrain's solidarity with Saudi Arabia, backing all the measures it takes to confront these criminal terrorist acts aimed at destabilizing its security and stability and threatening the lives of its citizens and residents.
The Bahraini foreign ministry also commended the vigilance and efficiency of the coalition forces that were able to intercept the drone and destroy it.
Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the Houthi militia's continued terrorist acts against Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued by the foreign ministry on Monday, Egypt affirmed its support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia in the measures it takes to confront these terrorist acts, which threaten its security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territories, and represent a direct and blatant threat to security and stability in the region.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the attack.
In a statement, OIC Secretary-General Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen hailed the vigilance and professionalism of the forces of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, as they managed to intercept and destroy it.
Al-Othaimeen reiterated the OIC standing along the side of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security, stability and safety of its citizens and residents on its territories.
The Arab Parliament (AP) condemned terrorist Houthi militia's attacks using a booby-trapped drone on Abha International Airport.
In a statement, the Arab Parliament warned of the continuing violations committed by the terrorist Houthi militia, considering such actions as war crimes, a violation of international and humanitarian laws and international norms, and a translation of an Iranian malicious agenda aiming to destabilize the security and stability of the region.
The Arab Parliament called on the international community to take urgent and decisive action to deter the Houthi militia from its crimes and take decisive steps to protect civilians from this continuing attack.
The parliament affirmed its full support for and stance with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to confront these criminal terrorist acts that threaten the lives of its citizens and residents.
