I wish to extend my thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah for his gesture to expatriates by announcing the three-month grace period for them to correct their status. The king's announcement has come as great relief to all expatriates and was widely welcomed by Saudi business community. Parents heaved a sigh of relief with the reopening of the schools of their children. Essential services like sewerage lifting, water supply tankers and clearance of FMC products from the ports might bring much-needed respite to Saudi and expatriate residents of the Kingdom. I hope that all the expatriates right from the casual laborers to those in managerial positions will utilize this grace period and correct their sponsorship and other issues.
