Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 04 - 2021

The Commander of King Abdulaziz Air Base in the Eastern Sector, Maj. Gen. Pilot Eid Bin Barak Al-Otaibi visited on Sunday the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) group participating in the mixed air exercise (2021 Air Excellence Center Exercise), in Pakistan.
He was received by the Deputy Chief of Pakistani Air Staff Lt. Gen. Syed Noman Ali; Saudi Military Attaché to Pakistan Maj. Gen. Pilot Awad Bin Abdullah Al-Zahrani and Commander of RSAF group participating in the exercise Lt. Col. Pilot Fayeh Bin Abdulrahman Al-Roqi.
Maj. Gen. Al-Otaibi was briefed on the exercise, the preparations that preceded the implementation of the exercise, and what had been accomplished since the beginning of the exercise so far in terms of the exercise maneuvers and goals that had been achieved.
He explained that such exercises require a high level of competence and professionalism in the operational, technical and administrative aspects that exist in the RSAF with its capabilities and accumulated experience through the participation in international mixed exercises.
Maj. Gen. Al-Otaibi pointed to the capabilities of the RSAF to transfer the participating aircraft systems, equipment and personnel thousands of miles with purely Saudi capabilities, and to adapt to work in different air environments with the highest levels of safety and professionalism, which is nothing but solid evidence of the distinct national competencies our air forces possess.
He praised the unlimited support accorded to the Armed Forces by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Supreme Commander of All Military Forces, and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy prime minister and minister of defense.
It is noteworthy that the multi-tasking Tornado combat aircraft of the RSAF with its air, technical and support crews continue to participate in the joint air exercise 2021 Air Excellence Center Exercise, in which the US Air Force and the air force of the host country, Pakistan, too are participating. — SPA
