RIYADH — The Ministry of Health warned the public against their laxity in complying with the precautionary measures and preventive protocols to stem the spread of coronavirus. It attributed the laxity in compliance of protocols as the main reason for the recent spike in coronavirus cases with recording the highest number of infections in the Kingdom since several months. The ministry stressed the importance of adhering to preventive measures such as wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, hand washing and not shaking hands to preserve the health and safety of everyone. It is noteworthy that the health authorities concerned with fighting the pandemic have opened vaccination centers in all regions across the Kingdom. The ministry urged all citizens and expatriates to take the vaccine through registering their names on Sehhaty application. It also called on them to contact the ministry's Center 937 for consultations and inquiries around the clock to obtain any information, services, and to know the developments of the virus. Saudi Arabia on Monday recorded 541 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking the highest number of single-day infections in the Kingdom in many months.
