RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent separate cables of condolences and sympathy to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the death of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Saudi Press Agency reported. In their messages, the King and Crown Prince expressed their profound condolences and sympathy to the UAE president, the family of the deceased, and people of the UAE, appealing to Allah the Almighty to bestow mercy and forgiveness on the soul of the deceased. They also sent cables of condolences to UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, who is also the ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan, the deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE's finance minister, passed away early Wednesday. His body was laid to rest on Wednesday afternoon at the Umm Hurair cemetery in Dubai after funeral prayers were offered at Zabeel Mosque amid coronavirus precautionary measures.
