RIYADH — The National Center for Palms & Dates (NCPD) revealed that there was an increase of 68 percent in the volume of Saudi exports of dates from 127,000 tons to 215,000 tons during the period from 2015 to 2020. The value of these exports jumped from SR535 million to SR927 million at a rate of 73 percent. According to a report of NCPD, during the year 2020, the increase in the volume of exports accounted for 17 percent while the value registered a moderate increase of 7.1 percent. Saudi Arabia exported dates to more than 107 countries around the world, and the products made of dates represented 24 percent of the exports. Statistics indicated that the annual growth rate for the value of Saudi dates exports reached 12.66 percent while the annual growth rate in the quantity of exports stood at 12.46 percent, the NCPD report pointed out.
