RIYADH — Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef said that Saudi products have reached more than 178 countries around the world in 2020 despite the unprecedented situation caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. He said that the Kingdom boasts of having a strong industry, which enables it to compete on the global level even though the pandemic posed the biggest challenge. Attending the program titled "In public," of the Saudi Television, the minister unveiled the salient features of the industrial sector in Saudi Arabia during the pandemic period. "The Saudi industry was built on a strong foundation, as the Kingdom represents an open market with a low rate of custom duties. These factors have created a solid industry that enabled Saudi products to spread to more than 178 countries around the world in 2020," he said. According to Alkhorayef, the biggest challenge faced by the industrial sector during the pandemic period was maintaining the balance between preserving human safety and the ministry's continuing role in supplying the markets with various supplies and products. "Saudi Arabia is one of the best countries to deal with the pandemic, especially after the ministry had succeeded in providing food products and medical supplies and meeting the continuous increase in demand," he added.
