New coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia crossed the 250-mark once again with 261 infections reported on Sunday. According to the Ministry of Health, only three patients died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by COVID-19, marking another single-digit, single-day virus-related fatalities following the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 368,074 and virus-related fatalities to 6,375. The ministry also reported 274 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 359,573, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.67. The Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 93 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 53 and the Makkah region with 49 cases. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the slight increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,126, out of which 362 were critical.
