RIYADH — The industrial sector offers qualitative investment opportunities in a number of activities, providing space for the participation of women and enabling them to invest in this sector, said Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef on Thursday, adding that it is one of the promising sectors that created last year over 39,000 job opportunities for both men with the 37 percent Saudization rate. He praised the Saudi leadership to support the economic diversification, enhance non-oil revenues and expand the industry-based economic base as a strategic alternative. Al-Khorayef made the remarks during an international conference titled "Women in Industry 2020," organized by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) with an aim to encourage the employment of more women in the industrial sector. He pointed out that the conference achieved tangible successes evoking interest at the local and regional levels with the participation of more than 400 people from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, Tunisia, apart from Saudi Arabia. The conference concluded with several recommendations designed to achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic development.
