Saudi teens aged 15-19 hold 50,758 jobs in private sector

RIYADH —The total number of Saudi teens between ages 15 and 19 years employed in the private sector stands at 50,758, according to a recent report of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI). The figures are based on those registered with GOSI.
There are 181 employees in the government sector in the same age group. Out of the total, there are 154 men and 27 women.
The report also showed that there are 7,269 employees between ages 20 and 24 years in the government sector with men occupying 5,548 positions while women holding 1,721 jobs.
The report revealed that there are 65 male and female employees over the age of 85 employed in the government sector. Of them, 42 are men and 23 are women. In the private sector, the number of workers in the same age group stands at 3,241, and these include 3,125 men and 116 women.
The number of employees between ages 80 and 84 years is 52, of whom 40 are men and 12 women, compared to 4,152 male and female employees in the private sector in the same age group.
According to the GOSI figures, the total number of government employees is 300,357, with men making 75.87 percent with 227,882 jobs, while women accounting for 24.13 percent with 72,475 positions.
The report indicated that the average monthly wage of Saudi government employees is SR11,754, while the average wage for Saudis working in the private sector is SR6,456, and overall, the average wage for Saudis working in the government and private sector is SR7,146.
