RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health recorded on Monday 209 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, maintaining a steady decline in single-day infections in the Kingdom. The ministry also reported 12 more deaths from complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 358,922 and the deaths to 5,977. The ministry also reported 289 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 349,168 with the recovery rate climbing to 97.28 percent. Of the new cases, Riyadh and Madinah reported 44 cases each, followed by the Makkah with 37 and the Eastern region with 26 cases. Al-Jouf region recorded the lowest single-day number with just 1 case. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the drastic drop in the number of daily cases and the steady rise in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 3,777 reported on Monday, and out of the total, 577 were critical cases.
