Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 217 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 357,128. Fourteen more patients died due to complications caused by the virus, taking the total number of fatalities to 5,884. The ministry also reported 386 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 346,409 with the recovery rate climbing to 96.89 percent. Of the new cases, Riyadh recorded the highest number of cases with 75 followed by Makkah with 35, Madinah with 29 and Eastern region with 18 cases. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. With the steady drop in the number of daily cases and the spike in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 4,835 reported on Sunday, and out of the total, 674 were critical cases.
