THE HAGUE — Saudi Arabia's Embassy headquarters in The Hague in the Netherlands was hit by a cowardly shooting incident at dawn on Thursday, and no one was hurt in the incident, the Embassy said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. According to the statement, the Embassy security personnel informed the Dutch security authorities about the incident as soon as it occurred. The area was cordoned off and the road leading to the embassy was closed immediately after receiving information about shots being fired at the Embassy building. The security measures have been beefed up and forensic teams are conducting an investigation. None of the Embassy staff suffered any injuries, the statement said. The embassy expressed the condemnation of the Saudi government of this cowardly attack. It thanked the Dutch authorities for their prompt response to the incident. The Embassy looked forward to knowing the motive of the incident, hoping the investigation would yield results soon and culprits would brought to justice. The Embassy urged the Saudi citizens residing in the Netherlands to be utmost cautious and not reluctant to contact the Embassy if they needed any help, the statement added.
