King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) is one of the very few health care facilities outside the United States to be recognized by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) as ‘Healthcare's Most Wired' for being at the forefront of using healthcare information technology (IT) to improve the delivery of care. CHIME is an executive organization that enables senior health care IT leaders to exchange best practices and promote the effective use of IT to advance the health and care in the communities they serve. For the ‘Healthcare's Most Wired' program, CHIME conducts an annual survey to identify and verify the adoption of IT by health care providers around the world with the aim of elevating patient safety and outcomes. These include KFSH&RC's well-established IT infrastructure that enables advanced technological deployments, business continuity/resilience, integration engines, patient portals, innovative data management and artificial intelligence-based analytics, population health systems and supply chain management among others.
