CHRISTCHURCH — New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder has been unable to help police with their investigation into the late-night attack that left him seriously injured because he has no memory of the incident. The attack last Thursday initially left Ryder with critical injuries and in an induced coma in a hospital just a day before he was scheduled to fly to India to play for Delhi in the IPL Twenty20 league. “Unfortunately Mr. Ryder has no recollection of what took place or the events leading up to the incident,” Police Det. Senior Sergeant Brian Archer told Fairfax New Zealand on Tuesday. “This is not uncommon when a victim has received a head injury of this nature.” — AP
