RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Monday reported 1,993 new coronavirus cases, 2,613 recoveries and 27 more virus-related deaths over the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said in a statement. This brings the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases so far in the Kingdom to 268,934, recoveries to 222,936 and fatalities to 2,760. The Kingdom has recently witnessed a significant drop in single-day new COVID-19 cases as well as fatalities due to complications caused by the virus, while there has been a consistent surge in recoveries. Hufof reported the highest number of infections with 194 new cases followed by Taif and Riyadh with 186 and 106 cases respectively. Meanwhile, there were 94 new cases in Makkah, 79 in Dammam, 69 in Najran, 65 in Mobarraz, 62 in Madinah, 58 in Buraidah and 51 in Jeddah. New infections were also detected in cities and provinces across the Kingdom.
