MANAMA — All mosques in Bahrain will continue to remain closed until the coronavirus infection rate drops to the desired level, reiterated the country's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in a statement on Wednesday carried by Bahrain News Agency. The council, however, did not explain the reduction level that is required for the reopening of mosques. It added that people should continue to rise to the highest levels of responsibility and take the health measures seriously for the sake of their families and their country in order to overcome the pandemic. The move to keep mosques in the Kingdom closed has been made due to a recent spike in the number of new coronavirus infections. The decision is reviewed every two weeks by the council in consultations with the national task team for confronting coronavirus, the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs as well as the Sunni and Jaafari endowment departments.
