MANAMA — Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa lauded the dedicated efforts of the country's defense forces in combating coronavirus as he paid a visit to the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force on Wednesday. Upon his arrival at the command, the Bahraini monarch was welcomed by the BDF Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Defense Affairs, Lt. Gen. Abdulla Bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander, Maj. Gen. Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. l Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Bahrain News Agency reported. King Hamad, who is also the kingdom's supreme commander, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the BDF for its noble contributions and the readiness of its medical services to provide facilities that are equipped with the latest health supplies for examination, treatment, and preventive measures through qualified and specialized medical personnel to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He also lauded the patriotic efforts made by the executive and legislative branches to preserve pension funds for the best interests of the citizens. King Hamad stressed the importance of stepping up efforts to enhance support for low-income citizens in a way that would meet their needs, and achieve stability for their families, as well as contribute to continuing building on and optimizing the national gains. King Hamad also thanked all the military and civilian medical and administrative teams for their fruitful humanitarian efforts, bravery in fighting the pandemic and determination to achieve success, voicing pride in their noble stances, as well as in the awareness and solidarity of all Bahrainis. He lauded the continuous development witnessed by the BDF regarding military systems and training. During the visit, King Hamad also received at Janez Lotric, founder of Diplomatic Protocol Society. Lotric presented to the king a photograph of flamingoes in Huwar taken by National Geographic. King Hamad thanked Lotric for the photograph and hailed the distinguished approach in taking it. He also commended the outstanding efforts of Lotric who supervised the production of the photograph.
