RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, sent separate cables of condolences early Friday to the president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of the emirate of Sharjah on the death of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, deputy ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi died in London on Thursday, UAE's state news agency reported. "(We) beseech God Almighty to bless him with the grace of His mercy and forgiveness, and give him a place in his vast paradise," Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said in his messages to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sharjah ruler Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi. Meanwhile, leaders of other Gulf countries also sent their messages of condolences to the UAE leadership. Oman's Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq also sent a message of condolence to the Sharjah ruler on the death of Sheikh Ahmed. In his message, Oman's Sultan expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest the bereaved soul in peace and grant his family patience. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the emir of Kuwait, sent cables of condolence to the UAE president. In his message, Sheikh Sabah expressed his sympathy on the death and prayed for the family to be granted solace. Mourning the death, the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, said on Twitter: "Our condolences to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and the people of the UAE on the death of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi. May God rest his soul." "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return," he said. Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also paid his respects. "My sincere condolences to my brother Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and his family on the passing of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi," he said. "I pray they are granted patience and solace during these difficult and trying times. May he rest in peace."
