ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Monday recorded 449 new coronavirus cases and one more death, according to a statement from the country's Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by state news agency WAM. The ministry also announced that 665 more patients have completely recovered from the deadly disease. This brings the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases, fatalities and recoveries in the country so far to 48,246, 37,076 and 314 respectively. The new cases, all of whom are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care, were detected after more than 43,551 additional coronavirus tests were done among UAE citizens and residents over the past few days, the ministry said. Commenting on the rate of recoveries in the recent days, Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, official spokesperson of the UAE government, said during the press briefing that the daily average rate of recoveries exceeds 660 cases, heralding the tireless efforts made by the medical staff in all UAE healthcare facilities, including doctors and nurses. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients. It urged the public to cooperate with health authorities and comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols, to ensure the safety and protection of all.
