An enraged housewife on Friday set fire to her husband's room while the man slept oblivious of the grave danger to his life. The couple had an altercation hours prior to the incident and the wife threatened to “take revenge,” the husband, who suffered second-degree burns, alleged. The husband is recovering from his burns at King Fahd Central Hospital here, Al-Watan daily said. A Civil Defense team, which rushed to the house upon getting an alert, saved the man in his early 30s by breaking into his burning room which was locked from the outside. The designated spokesman for Jizan Civil Defense, First Lieutenant Aboud Bin Mefrih Aseeri, said traces of kerosene were found near the husband's place of sleep.He added that the case has been referred to Sabia Police for investigations. The General Supervisor of King Fahd Central Hospital in Jizan, Dr. Yahya Solan, said the man sustained first and second degree burns and his condition was now stable. Sabia Police chief Colonel Hadi Al-Qahtani said the victim had earlier divorced three of his four wives. __
