The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) issued the first version of the manual to practice alternative and complementary medicine on Sunday. It also highlighted the essentially required safeguards and conditions to obtain the license to practice the profession of alternative and complementary medicine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The manual classified the accredited and licensed related practices by the NCCAM into five categories as follows: Cupping, acupuncture, orthopedics, chiropractic and physiotherapy. It highlighted the prohibitions against practitioners and establishments, as well, in order to protect the profession and set forth safe practicing guidelines to be followed by the licensed specialized professionals. — SPA
