RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 3,921 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the highest daily count since the start of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the Kingdom in early March, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The ministry also announced 36 more deaths, raising the total number of COVID-19 infections to 119,942 and the virus-related fatalities to 893 in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia has recently seen a spike in new infections as it eases stringent lockdown measures, with the number of daily cases exceeding 3,000 for the seventh day in a row. Riyadh again topped the list of cities with the highest number of daily reported infections with 1,584 cases, making up nearly 40 percent of the daily count, followed by Jeddah with 391 cases. Makkah, Hufof, Al Khobar, Madinah and Dammam reported less than 200 new cases with 197, 192, 176, 144 and 104 new infections.
