DUBAI -- The number of coronavirus cases in the UAE continues to grow as 783 new infections and two virus-related deaths were reported on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health announced. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 19,661 and the virus-related death toll to 203. The new cases are of people of different nationalities who are currently all stable, Emirates News Agency (WAM) cited the ministry as saying. Two residents died of complications due to the virus, the ministry added. Cases in the UAE have been on the rise in the past few days after restrictions were loosened at the start of the holy month of Ramadan. Health ministry spokeswoman Dr. Farida Al-Hosani urged the public to adhere to precautionary measures despite the fact that malls and restaurants were allowed to reopen. The new infections were detected during the UAE's intensified testing programs launched across the country to help contain the outbreak, according to the ministry. Over 32,000 tests were conducted on Tuesday on different members of the public, including individuals who have had direct contact with previously infected individuals. -- Al Arabiya English
