The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance has started to implement the project of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Ramadan Iftar (breaking fast) for the year of 1441 AH in the 18 countries around the world. The program aims to provide Iftar meals to one million people after Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman approved increasing funds allocated for the Iftar Project to SR5 million. The ministry said in a statement that the program comes within the continuing support being provided by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the ministry's works and programs that serve the Islamic work, especially in the holy month of Ramadan. The ministry added that this project comes as a continuation of charitable works by the King to meet the needs of Muslims around the world. The ministry affirmed that the selected countries cover most continents of the world including Djibouti, Malaysia, Philippines, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Uganda, South Africa, Argentina, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Australia, Chad, Pakistan, Sudan, India, Senegal, Kenya and Indonesia. The ministry stated that the implementation and the supervision of the project would be by Religious Attaché offices at the Saudi Embassies and Islamic Centers that are under the ministry's supervision. They will provide food baskets to the families, taking into account measures being taken by authorities to protect their citizens and residents from the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. — SPA
