Following Saudi Arabia implementing an earlier curfew start time in the city of Dammam and the governorates of Al-Qatif and Taif as part of the Kingdom's measures to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, the limits of curfew areas here was clarified. The media spokesperson for Eastern Region Police, Brig. Ziyad Al-Raqiti clarified later Friday the scope of curfew in Dammam and Qatif. However, the new curfew time, effective Friday, would start at 3 p.m. instead of the previously announced 7 p.m. Brig. Al-Raqiti, in a press statement, stated that with respect to Dammam, the curfew limits would be from Imam Mohammed Bin Abdulwahhab Road to the Port Road at Gulf Palace roundabout. He added, "It would include the area from Port Road towards the east and King Fahd Road to King Saud Road. And from Al-Nawras neighborhood to the end of the neighborhood." He noted that neighborhoods of Al-Fakhriyah, Hajar, Al-Shula, Al-Samhaniyah, Al-Safa and Al-Fanar, are not within Dammam range. With respect to Qatif, he added that the curfew limits remain the same: from Saihat in the south to Safwa in the north. Brig. Al-Raqiti stressed the importance of residents of cities and governorates to stay at home except in case of necessity, as this is one of the precautionary measures necessary to preserve public health. — SG/SPA
