PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania — Russian star Evgeni Malkin made his presence felt in his first game back from injury, helping Pittsburgh stretch their win streak to 14 games with a 4-0 win over Winnipeg Thursday. The Penguins didn't have their newest star on the ice against the Jets but it didn't matter as Malkin scored and Czech goaltender Tomas Vokoun stopped all 20 shots he faced. It was Malkin's first game back since missing nine with an injury. Pascal Dupuis scored twice and Chris Kunitz added a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh, which completed a blockbuster trade Thursday by acquiring two-time 50-goal scorer Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames.Iginla, of Canada, is likely to make his Penguins' debut when Pittsburgh hosts the New York Islanders Saturday. Vokoun also had an assist in addition to posting his 50th career shutout. Al Montoya finished with 39 saves for the Jets, who had their modest two-game win streak halted. Senators 3, Rangers 0: Ben Bishop made 24 saves for his second career shutout as the Ottawa Senators dumped the New York Rangers 3-0. The victory was the Senators' third over the Blueshirts, completing a season sweep against the team that eliminated them in a first-round series that went the distance last April. Andre Benoit, Guillaume Latendresse and Colin Greening scored for the Senators, who improved their league-leading home record to 13-2-3. Islanders 4, Flyers 3 (SO): Josh Bailey scored the decisive goal in a shootout, lifting the New York Islanders to a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Brad Boyes also scored on Ilya Bryzgalov in the four-round shootout, and Colin McDonald had two third-period goals for the Islanders, who overcame a 2-0 deficit to win their fourth straight road game and remain in the mix for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Islanders pulled into a tie with the New York Rangers for eighth place. Maple Leafs 6, Hurricanes 3: Joffrey Lupul's seventh goal of the season with just over three minutes remaining stood as the winner in the Maple Leafs' 6-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. Lupul went end to end, walking around Hurricanes defenseman Joe Corvo and stuffing the puck short side. Lupul now has seven goals in five games since returning from his broken arm. Toronto (19-12-4) now has points in seven straight and Carolina 15-15-2 have not won in seven games.
