ALULA — The Winter at Tantora Festival hosted the American musician Lionel Richie on Friday in an exceptional performance in the embrace of the picturesque nature of AlUla with the British sensation Craig David as a special guest. The event is part of the endeavor of the Royal Commission for AlUla, which organizes the festival, to present a variety of world heritage, cultural, and artistic events, and to highlight AlUla as an incubator of human heritage for thousands of years. The award-winning American singer-songwriter Lionel Richie, has composed and performed many of the world's most celebrated songs of the last forty years, both as a solo artist and lead singer of The Commodores. Also participating in this exciting concert is British singer-songwriter, rapper, DJ, and music producer Craig David. The combination of Lionel Richie and Craig David created an enchanting mix of music for the magical night. Lionel Richie's career highlights include being a founding member of the Commodores, which is considered one of the best R&B bands of the 1970s, before finding success as a solo artist after releasing his first album bearing his name, where the song "Truly" ranked first in the United States of America. It was followed by many songs that have achieved unparalleled successes, such as "Hello". In 1985, he co-wrote the charity single "We Are The World" with Michael Jackson. Richie's subsequent albums include "Louder Than Words" (1996) and "Coming Home" (2006). He also had new success with his album "Tuskegee" (2012), and has been a judge on American Idol since 2018. Over the course of his career, Richie has sold more than ninety million albums worldwide, making him one of the most successful artists in the world. Craig David gained recognition in 1999, appearing in the song "Re Rewind" with Artful Dodger. He released his album "Born To Do It" in 2000, after which he released five other albums and worked with a diverse group of artists, such as Sting, Tinchy Stryder, Big Narstie, Kano, and Jay Sean. Craig David has 20 solo songs among the top 40 in the UK and has sold more than 15,000,000 albums worldwide as a solo artist. David has been nominated for fourteen Brit Awards and has twice received a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Performance. In the arms of the picturesque nature of AlUla, the mixed concert took place at Maraya Concert Hall, the largest theater constructed with mirrors in the world. It represents a modern architectural masterpiece and can accommodate about five hundred guests and provides a high-quality sound system. The festival also houses many other diverse activities including the local markets, winter garden, farms, and the old town.
