Okaz/Saudi Gazette KULA LUMPUR – A Saudi scholarship student in Japan is making headlines with the launch of a unique fight against the deadly Coronavirus which has wreaked havoc across China. Ruwaida Saleh Al-Ajeemi, a student of Tokyo University of Medicine and Dentistry, has prepared a video detailing the ways and means to prevent the novel Coronavirus. The Saudi Cultural Attaché at the Tokyo Embassy, which posted the video in its Twitter account, called on Saudi students in Japan to learn about ways of preventing the epidemic through closely following the video. Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gaztte, Al-Ajeemi, who is specialized in infection control and pursuing her master's degree in the Department of Public Health at the university, said that awareness is a prerequisite for raising the level of prevention and protection of Saudi scholarship students in Japan from the spread of the deadly virus. "Being a student specialized in infection control and as a member of the Saudi Student Club in Tokyo, I think it is my obligation to render contribution, even if it is little, to the benefit of the scholarship students society and those accompanying them in Japan," she said. The death toll from the novel Coronavirus outbreak soared to 722 in China on Saturday, including the first foreign victim, as Hong Kong imposed a mandatory quarantine on mainland arrivals to block the spread of an epidemic that has caused global panic. With 86 more people dying in mainland China — the highest one-day jump so far — the toll was closing in on the 774 killed worldwide during the 2002-03 SARS epidemic.
