RIYADH — Members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom and their families visited the historic Al-Turaif neighborhood in Diriyah, one of Saudi Arabia's national heritage sites on the UNESCO international heritage list. The get-acquainted visit was organized by the ministry of foreign affairs. During their tour of the historical district, the ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions were briefed on the traditional buildings, including Salwa Palace, Al-Diriyah Museum, War Museum, Arab Horse Museum, Prince Mashari Bin Saud Palace, Imam Abdullah Bin Saud Palace, Al-Turaif Grand Mosque and a number of palaces and homes in the district. All these historic places are supervised by Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA). The visitors also watched unique and distinguished arts of architecture which reflect the styles of traditional life in addition to the historical phases of the Saudi State. The visitors expressed happiness at the visit confirming that Al-Turaif District in Diriyah narrates the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Established in July 2017, the DGDA is tasked with preserving Diriyah's history, celebrating its community and developing the historic site into one of the world's greatest gathering places and a hub for Saudi culture and heritage, and tourism. To that end, The DGDA signed landmark deals with Aman, a luxury resort developer, and the Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) Company at the Open Hearts.
