RIYADH – Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, has said that arts are witnessing a new leap in their creative tools. He said the Kingdom has paid attention to artificial intelligence as it is one of the outputs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and a strategic tool in building and planning the future. The minister was speaking after patronizing the ceremony of the Artificial Intelligence Artathon competition at King Abdullah Financial Center in Riyadh on Friday. During the event teams with proposed projects were selected by the competition committees, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. These projects will be honored and most notably of them will be presented in a special art exhibition during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference summit to be held in Riyadh at the end of next March. The minister thanked the participants in the Artificial Intelligence Artathon competition, which is a first step for the Kingdom in this field. Prince Badr pointed out that "Artathon" comes as confirmation of the position that arts occupy in the Kingdom's "Future Vision" and this reveals the wise leadership's interest in culture in all its sectors. He said "We are betting on the talents of our youth in cultural creativity and investing artificial intelligence in the arts and in cultural action in all its forms, and we believe in international partnerships that enhance its role in all aspects of life."
