The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, HFZA, has announced it's taking part in 16th edition of the region's premier steel and metal industry event, SteelFab 2020, scheduled to be held at Expo Centre Sharjah on January 13 -16. HFZA stressed that SteelFab 2020 represents a perfect platform to highlight Sharjah's unique investment environment, and the competitive advantages provided by the Emirate to steel and metal companies. "Through our participation, we will be focusing on attracting major regional and international companies operating in the steel and metal industry to HFZA," the authority affirmed. Besides being a supportive partner, HFZA will take part in the event through a full-fledged pavilion, which will receive and hold meeting with representatives of participating companies to introduce them to the advantages of setting up businesses in Hamriyah Free Zone, in addition to the facilities provided to investors. SteelFab is one of the most important and specialized international exhibitions, which attracts a large number of exhibitors and fabricators, where they can learn more about the manufacturing and construction industry, one of the key sectors contributing to Sharjah's GDP. Currently, more than 180 regional and international steel fabrication and metal companies are operating in the Hamriyah Free Zone. Speaking on the occasion, Saud Salim Al-Mazrouei, Director of HFZA, stressed the importance of taking part in such an important event, which has become one of the most prominent exhibitions organized annually by the Emirate of Sharjah. "HFZA's participation comes in line with its strategic plans to learn more about the latest innovations and technologies in this sector and to promote itself as a premier hub for steel fab companies. It is also to boost our investors' competitiveness by holding meetings with companies interested in their (investors) services and products," said Al-Mazrouei. "According to a recent report by the Research & Markets entitled "UAE Steel Industry Outlook 2020", the consumption of metal and steel in the country is expected to grow by 8% between 2016 and 2020. This underlines the importance of this sector and the high demand on its products, thanks to the development and urban projects and diverse governmental investments in developing the country's infrastructure," added Al-Mazrouei. He pointed out that HFZA is offering unparalleled advantages for steel fabrication and metal companies, including but not limited to advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge facilities, and warehouses, and strong land, air, and sea connectivity. "We are inviting all investors and key players of the metal and steel companies to take advantage of our wide-range services tailored to cater to their needs and add value to their products' quality and efficiency. We are looking forward to a successful edition of SteelFab 2020 to build on the success of previous editions," he concluded. Steel Fab 2020 is organized and hosted by the Expo Centre Sharjah, with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry. — SG
